About the Luncheon:

The MIAS Luncheons are BACK at the WAC!!!

Excited to announce our first luncheon is in a few weeks, on Tuesday, January 7th.  Juliette McCullough, maritime attorney from California, will be speaking about The Specific Order Doctrine and Its Importance in Jones Act Cases.  Will be a fascinating topic to kick off the monthly luncheons.  Please support MIAS and attend – many of you have been asking for the luncheons to return and we’ve got a committee together.  So please show up!

About the Speaker:

Juliette McCullough, Maritime Attorney 

Juliette is Of Counsel at Peacock Piper Tong & Voss, LLP. She is admitted to practice law in California and Hawaii. Her work is focused on maritime litigation and transactions. In addition to representing and advising operators and owners of the ocean shipping industry, ferries, tugs, and passenger vessels, she regularly advises charter yacht and sailing companies. She has a nuanced understanding of the small passenger vessel industry. 

Ms. McCullough has obtained trial victories and numerous summary judgments and dismissals for her clients. She provides efficient resolutions and reasoned advice to avoid litigation, as well as guidance and counsel regarding business practices and transactions. 

Juliette earned her J.D. from U.C. Hastings College of the Law, graduating cum laude. She graduated from Wellesley College, magna cum laude, with a B.A. in Environmental Studies. 

Juliette is honored to serve on the Board of Directors for Sea Sisters, Inc., a non-profit promoting the recruitment and retention of women in the maritime industry and as the Secretary for the Board of Directors at Call of the Sea, a non-profit youth education and sailing organization based in Sausalito, California. She is the Chair-Elect for the American Bar Association’s Admiralty and Maritime Law Committee. 

When not working, Juliette can be found outdoors: running, swimming, and camping with family and friends.
